VISD selects November Champion of the Month, awards truck for a month from Atzenhoffer Chevrolet

On Monday, Nov. 1, Victoria ISD selected Jim Braye, first-year teacher at Victoria East High School, as its November Champion of the Month.

Stroman STEM Academy Presents "The Dia De Los Muertos Project"

Stroman STEM Academy's 6th-grade ELAR classes are completing a project-based assignment for Hispanic Heritage Month titled "The Dia De Los Muertos Project".

Projects will be displayed at the Student Center at Victoria College, beginning at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 2. Winners will be announced at 5 p.m. and there is a Parent Open House from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A Minute w. Dr. Shepherd: The Bond Oversight Committee

The Bond Planning Task Force spoke, and we listened. During the BPTF meetings, community members asked that a Bond Oversight Committee be created if Victoria residents approve the Nov. 2 Bond Election. Board President Mike Mercer joins Dr. Shepherd, superintendent of schools to speak more about this.

Victoria ISD earns State’s highest fiscal accountability rating

Victoria ISD officials announced the district received an “A” rating for “Superior Achievement” under the School Financial Accountability Rating System of Texas (FIRST).

Victoria ISD announces AP Scholars

Fifty-eight students from Victoria ISD have earned AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP Exams. The scholars were honored at the VISD Board Meeting on Oct. 28. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR AP SCHOLARS!

Texas State Board of Education (SBOE) District 2 member, Ruben Cortez, visited Victoria ISD on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021.

For this alumnus, it didn’t take long to feel right at home when he came to VISD. Christian Almanzar is a 2019 graduate of Victoria West High School, the only VISD school he’d attended.
